Egypt… Our Adventure Continues

Note – This is a few days old. We are just now leaving Isreal. :)

Today was our Egypt day. We spent 3 hrs on a bus to get the pyramids at the Giza Plateau. During our bus ride our guide, Amal, and our driver and our security, Hassan all took very good care of us. It was interesting how much security we had. We had a bus caravan all the way from Alexdria, to Cairo the whole 3 hrs. We made it in record time. Once we arrived, we stopped at a view and took lots of photos, next we moved down and were given and opportunity to enter the 2nd pyramid. Dad and I jumped at the chance. It was stale, hot, cramped but what can I say. I got to enter in the 2nd pyramid. It was very cool, and my Indiana Jones was coming out. Definitely worth the experience. Now I sweating more then I think I have in a long time, but again it was a once in a life time opportunity. So I am glad I did it. No regrets.

While Dad and I was in the pyramid, Mom, Brandi and Ollie did their own sightseeing. Ollie can now say he has played in the dirt at the Acropolis, in Greece and the Great Pyramid in Egypt. What a life. Think of what we still have in store. Next we got back on the bus and drove over to the Sphinx. The Sphinx was again another experience. We could get pretty close, and then we also had the opportunity to walk through a temple that is pretty well intact, where they did some of the mummification rituals.

After that we drove to lunch, which was on a boat that sailed up and down the Nile River. We had a great show with a Belly Dancer who did a great shoe. Then we got back on the bus and headed back to Alexandria. It was about a 14 hrs day, but well worth it. I have uploaded some pictures, once we get back in the US I will upload all the pictures, and then of course we will have the vacation movie showings. :) Here are some links about Alexandria and Cairo.
