Monday I spent the day at the heart doctors. I had to go back and do a stress test. It was a variation of the treadmill test with nuclear stuff injected in me. I can honestly say it wasn’t fun.
So we got the results back. Everything is looking good. Nothing is permanently wrong with me, but it appears as I had a Transient ischemic attack or TIA for all you hip cats. Basically there are two types. One is the kind where you have a plaque build up or blockage in your arteries. The other type is the type that causes a lack of oxygen to your brain. I had #2.
So what does this say. A friend from work said it best, it’s like a warning shot across the bow of the ship. I was lucky, and consider myself very lucky. So what do you do next, what has to happen next?
I still have some pain and discomfort, but the heart Dr has given me a clean bill of health. So what I have to do now is to drop the weight again. Once I drop 30 lbs that should take care of a good deal of the health problems, and will eliminate my snoring as well. (Brandi is silently cheering inside).
Well I have dropped my consulting, I am slowing down at work, I have submitted my final paper for my BS of Information Technology Degree, and I am getting ready for a big vacation so we have lots of changes happening. Now that I am slowing down, I am beginning to consider adding some diet and exercise to the mix.
All in moderation right? We’ll see how the chapter turns on…
